Charleston County School District is currently expanding early childhood education and career pathways through its comprehensive Peninsula Promise initiative, launched in January 2026. This includes establishing Universal Pre-Kindergarten and repurposing the Julian Mitchell campus to create enhanced middle school programs. The district is also actively deploying significant investments to strengthen school-based mental health and behavioral supports for students.
